The hardware wallets can integrate with popular platforms like MetaMask and WalletConnect, providing secure access to DeFi, NFTs, and more.

Standards: Cryptnox hardware wallets are compatible with the BIP32 and BIP39 standards.

Backup: You can back up your keys with the backup card and the dual card initialisation process.

What do you get?

With the hardware wallet solution, you get the access to the following set of products from Cryptnox:

Physical cards (hardware wallet): You get two cards- a primary card and a backup card for you to use. We exclusively provide a backup card in case you lose the primary card or face any technical difficulties while performing a transaction.
Mobile application: You can keep track of your financial portfolio and manage your spend using the Cryptnox mobile app, specially designed to simplify your experience. Using this application in parallel to the card and biometric authentication, you can quickly sign transactions, securely transfer valuable cryptocurrencies, or store the cryptocurrencies. You can also use this application to check the balances in your crypto portfolio but you will need a card to perform transactions.

Legal Compliances

Cryptnox is compliant with the data protection laws and does not have any visibility on or access to your wallet. A wallet is always created by the owner and Cryptnox has no way to access it. We follow highest level of security standards and we were audited by the Cybersecurity firm Cure53 after we appointed them to perform a security analysis of the Cryptnox card firmware. Software Standards

The hardware wallet, in combination with the app, is compatible with BIP 32 and BIP 39 standards. As a result, if your seed originates from a BIP32/BIP39 wallet, you can inject it in a Cryptnox Hardware Wallet card. You can inject a seed as a part of the initialization process. This process is outlined further in the documentation.

Best Practices

Using defi and other web3 applications using Cryptnox card.

The mobile application is compatible with the WalletConnect, which allows you to connect to most of the online web3 dapps. To do so, select ‘WalletConnect’ as a wallet option, scan the QR code with your phone app, and follow the instructions on the screen to connect your wallet. You can then perform defi transactions and even mint or transfer NFTs.

Resetting the card in case of lost PIN/PUK credentials.

As a standard practice,

Store your PIN and PUK together either with your backup card (if you performed a dual card Setup).
Or store a copy of your BIP39 (12 or 24 words) seed if it was externally injected.

This a major security requirement. For additional protection, the PUK is required for reset.

The PIN and the PUK work in a similar way for accessing a phone sim card. The PIN and the PUK work in the following manner:

The PIN is generally required for executing a transaction on other Cryptnox card-compatible applications.
The PUK has administrative privileges, and is required for pairing your card with the biometrics of your phone, or for a reset.

Performing a dual card setup with any pair of Cryptnox wallet card.

You can only perform a dual card setup with a pair or cards that was provided in the same pack. The printed serial numbers on the cards should vary by one unit.

Accessible blockchain networks.

The Cryptnox hardware wallet cards are compatible with Bitcoin and Ethereum virtual machine (EVM) based blockchains. You can also manually add an EVM based network or coin that is not listed in the Cryptnox wallet application.
